I cannot stop thinking about it! It may just be a function of social media, but I can't help but wonder if there is a better way to say what we're trying to say.
the questionnaire piece - I loved this part ending with, and the world won't end. Such a good reminder and I enjoyed answering the questions. "Next time, ask: What's the worst that will happen? Then push yourself a little further than you dare. Once you start to speak, people will yell at you. They will interrupt you, put you down and suggest it's personal. And the world won't end."
Love that you wrote about this. I’ve always felt in the minority with my disdain for the cliche hashtags and Instagram captions ie: my tribe, adulting, my person, forever wedding date. It just feels so boring and unoriginal. It also makes me think about how nothing is sacred anymore. Big moments are no longer between you and a loved one, everything must be shared. I cringe when I see a play by play of a couples honeymoon or the very first photo of a baby on their moms chest or even a post about a good deed or volunteer work. I understand that people feel excited and want to share, but isn’t anything just yours anymore?
Thank you for writing this! I have thought about this topic often lately, and you nailed it.
