That "what type of person are you" piece is so important. It reminded me of every high school movie where people were defined into very specific groups and that was meant to be their entire character development and persona. At my own high school, some people truly lived that way. I had to fight against it, as did many others. I was a cheerleader, but also did drama, read books for pleasure, loved to write... none of those things were all of me. Nor did I want to spend time with only people just like me. Defining ourselves in such limiting ways prevents growth.
